Twee duo’s spelen ieder een set vrije improvisatie. ‘Wijntak’ is een formatie van een slagwerker en een saxofonist die samen graag de buren trakteren op een liederlijk potje free jazz, waarin zij hun brede muzikale interessesferen laten versmelten. Als het meezit rolt hun demo-cd-productie juist ten tijde van dit eerste optreden uit de brander, zodat de fans al meteen met een aandenken naar huis kunnen. Het duo Skoglund/Snijtsheuvel is helem‡‡l nagelnieuw. Deze gitaarheren kennen elkaar tot nu toe alleen van horen spelen tijdens concerten, en krijgen vanavond ruim baan voor een kennismakende samenwerking.

TINY ELVIS
Formed in April 2001 in the City of Bath out of the ashes of punk rock, Tiny Elvis say they are the only true representatives of contemporary life threatening lifestyles. Punk rock if you will, but more an organic, high calibre guerilla band, glorying in their strength, arrogance and absolute and total sonic superiority.

BAYSIX
Formed in 1999, B6 is punk rock but keeps the speed and aggression of classic hard core as a big influence. To us, as well as playing music we love, it is about lyrically saying something positive and showing Gratitude for our lives and friends and family.

BRAINS
The band exists since 1995. They live in Hungary in the outskirts of the capital, Budapest. In their music several styles can be found such as Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Acid, Ethno. This mixture might derive from the different musical taste of the the group members. From the beginning they have been striving for making melodious sounds and for filling the songs’ content with jollity and optimism. Both good humour and gaiety consider to be very important for them and also helps them to entertain at a concert or in a videoclip. These features provide something new for the audience. Most of the lyrics are written in English but some of the songs are in Hungarian. Their program contains a lot of working up from Beastie Boys, Asian Dub Fundation, songs from Pulp fiction and many others. During the past 9 years they gave more than 300 concert in clubs, regularly on college-parties and on different rock festivals. They often play abroad in Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland. They have already played on the same stage as Asian Dub Foundation, Zion Train, Napalm Death etc.

VALDEZ
The highlight of the band’s time so far came the same month when they played the Full Moon in Bristol supporting Demob and punk legends the UK Subs. More gigs soon followed, and the band started to pick up international interest, culminating in bookings for their debut European tour in July 2003. However, around this time, Martin was finding it hard to commit to two bands so he decided to leave. His replacement was James 'Pez' Penzer from Exeter, who replied to an ad Lee placed in Martian Records. From this point on, the band have continued to raise their profile, playing their own brand of 'intellectualist punk' drawing influences from the Ramones, the Clash, the Manics, Black Flag and even Guns n' Roses. At present, the band are busy preparing to release a split 7" single with Bad Blood on the renowned German punk label Campary Records, as well as another self financed CD release.With a live set that will leave you blinded, Valdez are sure to be causing a musical, cultural and political insurrection near you.

LYNDSEY COCKWELL
The fact that Lyndsey’s work is almost impossible to categorise makes her a perfect Baggage Reclaim guest. A singer songwriter with a great voice who blends in elements of musique-concrete , field recordings, sampling and a skewed take on spoken word, her music could be modern folk, experimental music, pop or documentary. But it’s always a beguiling experience.

BARACKCA
Punk-hardcore band from Hungary, with political lyrics and anarchist mentality. “One great Hungarian Punk group is Barackca, an anarchic punk group whose raw guitar sound and irrepressible drumbeats, will convince you to topple the state. Punk is definitely alive and kicking in Hungary, as proven by this offering, Miért Élünk (Why do we live?) Pogo the night away to tracks such as “Elbukott forradalmak” (Revolution) and “Az út” (The Road), but try not to get your mohawk stuck in the rafters.”

Wie speelt met wie, op welke tijd en plaats; dat zijn zo'n beetje de enige legitieme afspraken in de vrije improvisatie. Via een slimme samenstelling van ad-hoc-ensembles kan een concert desondanks licht voorgeprogrammeerd worden.

Reformed “Underground Entertainment”. A fuzzy videotape indicates cabaret with a taste for industrial-folk slapstick athems and tight Zappa slacks. Anything is possible.

LIVE: THE RACKET (R:DAM)
The Band. Formed in May 2003, consist of: Arne (bass), Ellen (vocals), Lennart (gitar & vocals), Onno (gitar), Reggio (drum). The music can be described as a mix of ska, retro-rock and punk, with a personal touch. Performing live, the band is at it’s best. Catchy melodies and sing-alongs make you want to move your feet, while dazzling quitar-solo’s brutally rupture your eardrums and still let you beg for more! Singer Ellen is a master at entertaining the audience in between the songs, and when the band is really on a roll, even the most innocent bystander is drawn onto the dance floor (or even the microphone) in the 'audience-participation' part of the show.

[the OX] is een rockband die eerlijke en aanstekelijke liedjes maakt; warm, maar met een scherp randje. De krachtige en hartverscheurende stem van zanger Arjen Oldenhuis, de indringende en melodieuze licks van gitarist Michel Snoek, de karakteristieke fretloze sound van bassist Roelof uit Beijerse en de functionele power van drummer Gerben de Kroon zorgen voor ogenschijnlijk eenvoudige liedjes met een kop en een staart, die afwisselend getypeerd worden als verrassend en uitdagend, warm en emotioneel, energiek en origineel. De kwaliteit van [the OX] schuilt daarbij voor een groot deel in het samenkomen van vier muzikanten met hun eigen achtergrond, ervaring, stijl en inspiratiebron.

LIVE: pLUK (R:DAM)
Blijdorp/ Rotterdam 1995. De kelder van de Heulstraat werd gebruikt als oefenruimte. Zo ontstond er het huiskamer-gevoel, dat zo kenmerkend is voor pLUK. Muziekstijlen zoals de jarentachtig-ska fuseerde met Primus, the Peppers en Nirvana. De covers werden omgeruild voor eigen nummers met eigen teksten, die zowel Engels- als Nederlands-talig waren. Iedereen schreef en componeerde mee. Zo ontstond Pluk. Het eerste optreden op de begane grond van het huis was een succes.Ê In de winter van 2002 vormde pLUK samen met de bands Buiten Adem en Salmons Noses het zogenaamde supertrio. In deze formatie speelden ze in Willemeen in Arnhem hun eerste avondvullende programma. In het begin van het jaar 2003 gingen de drummer en de bassist een paar maanden na India. Bij terugkomst is Tijl (a.k.a. Bullet, a.k.a. Kogel, a.k.a. Kramer) aangetrokken als saxonfonist. Dit loopt als een trein en 2003 is het jaar geworden van het vele optreden, inclusief een optreden op het grote podium in Nighttown. Het is nu het jaar 2004...
