MINDSCAN
Formed end of august 2005. The band played their first gig only 7 weeks
later in Nighttown, Rotterdam. A lot of shows followed. The band's released
their first EP "Diagnosis" in march 2006 which has received great reviews
so far! Mindscan is influenced by metal, metalcore, hardcore, emo, punk.
Some namedropping: Caliban, Killswitch Engage, Walls of Jericho, Heaven
Shall Burn but also System of a Down, Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan
and many more. Unique sound 'cause the band has 3 singers, clean, grunts,
screams, in every combination.. Brutality combined with feel.

SIREN
The band has created a very own style, which is formed by all kinds of
musical influences: oldschool hardcore, punk and a little bit of everything.
In april 2006 the girls played their first show in the Dynamo in Eindhoven.
The show was a succes and since then Siren has played multiple venues,
such as Waterfront Rotterdam, Dynamo for a second time, Muziekcafe Kerkrade,
Oefenbunker Landgraaf and more. They have shared the stage with Moment
of Truth, With Pride, Cheap Thrills (DE), Better off, Said and Done, Human

- Tradition
is a concept of - that improvisation has a tradition. And like all traditions
- they're just a tradition. Traditions can expand, like painting, art,
music. Tradition doesn't mean conservatism. It can be postmodernism too.
You know, people have a tendency to say, "oh, what is traditional?" But
in our 21st century, what could be in the tradition, you know what I'm
saying? In the sense of being postmodern, of being part of a modern society.
So I think that people confuse the word, like when they think, "oh yeah,
in the tradition means way back..." But actually, what we tried to establish
with In The Tradition, the word, established itself as an improvising
tradition, which means that it has a very long route, goes back about
forty thousand years. See, improvisation is quite old.
- The original music.
- Exactly.
- The first time we made sounds just for the thrill of hearing them...
- It was improvised. Exactly.

RIPLETS
The lyrics of their own songs are about daily life: fun, rock ‘n’
roll, holidays, summer, love and (ex-)boyfriends. Ever since their first
shows The Riplets have decide together on what to wear. There are so
many Riplet-outfits, they have lost count. The Riplets have existed
since 1998 and started performing in 1999. They opened for bands like
Dee Dee Ramone and Dead Moon. After two years of performing they decided
to record their 7”, Our Engine Is Running, and release it on their
own Riplet Records label. In May of 2001 they held the release party
at Rotterdam’s Nighttown with the Donnas and the Sahara Hotnights.
In the fall of that year they did their first tour; they were invited
by Travoltas to join them on a five week concert tour through Holland.

Having barely survived the vicious attack of a German Shepherd & being
marked with the kiss of Death, Hester Childmolester could do nothing
else but bow before the powers of the mighty Dog & swear eternal dedication
to the forth bringing of the dog-fearing cult in honour of the mighty
Shepherd. As years went by, with the worldwide search of worthy followers
slowly driving her to insanity, she almost gave up until she miraculously
realized she hadn't looked in her own backyard...and yes! There they
were, the rest of the pack, ready to leap onto debauchery's lap pissing
on all what's law & order. This is how three pedigree dogs & 2 equally
regal bitches joined forces to give shape to a new breed of rock'n'roll,
the barking mad, fierce & feared Duitse Herder! Untrained, untamed,
guided by pure instinct, these bitches deliver a raw bite of nitro-fuelled-high-octane

... The Story of the Minutemen, is a full lenght documentary about the
influential 1980’s punk rock band The Minutemen, created by director
Tim Irwin and producer Keith Schieron with Rocket Fuel Films. To see
are interviews with the band’s two surviving members Mike Watt
and George Hurley(singer/guitarist D Boon died in 1985 cause of a car
accident), as well as first person anecdotes from punk notables like
Jello Biafra, Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye and Thurston Moore, complement
the archival concert and interview footage of the band itself. It’s
an informative and moving film for those interested in the band or punk
rock music in general. The Minutemen were not your average kind of punkband.
They listen good to great UK bands like Wire or Swell Maps. More info:

DOGS
Two Dogs Stonden voorheen als Uw Hond al op het Poortgebouwpodium. Een
Amsterdams duo dat een soort van garagerockblues maakt op bas en drums.
Met name de basgeluiden zijn lekker vet en experimenteel. Er wordt afwisselend
gezongen door drumster en bassist. Eindeljk weers es een band die nergens
mee te vergelijken valt.

De R:IP
selecteert een aantal ervaren improvisatoren en goede (jonge) muzikanten
met minder improvisatie ervaring, zet ze voor een ge•nformeerd publiek
op een podium in uiteenlopende bezettingen, en laat ze muziek maken.
Op deze manier kunnen ervaren (R:IP) improvisatoren getalenteerde nieuwkomers
met impro-muziek laten kennismaken. Jonge muzikanten kunnen nieuwe invalshoeken
die de improvisatie biedt aftasten. Er zal kruisbestuiving plaatsvinden
met als resultaat een muzikale verrijking voor zowel onervaren als ervaren
improvisatoren. De keuzes voor de bezettingen moeten leiden tot een
avond die interessant is voor publiek en die muzikanten uitdaagt tot
het verleggen van hun muzikale grenzen.

TIME
& TIDE
Time & Tide started out in January 2005ce. The members along with various
guest musicians came together once a month, when the moon was full,
to do an electronic improvisational session. Time & Tide combine various
influences from both the early and present styles of electronic music,
industrial and musique concrète, creating a continually changing
flow of sound. Improvisation being the key factor, Time & Tide use different
sounds and equipment set-ups each time they play, thereby making each
session an unique event.
