HINTS about HINTS
Hints Institute has been launched in 2001, in Budapest, Hungary, with the aim to create art that is organic part of everydays, that drops surprises in the flow of everydays.
Some of the work creates alternative publicity or proposes alternative ways for the use of the public (Table cloth, Magnet points, Prakticity), while other projects highlight or react to specific questions of the social environment with involving people (Workshops, Flags, Light and Heavy). We also question the borders of public spaces and the relation of people to these spaces; to motivate them to be more conscious about social and real spaces. Not new to Rotterdam, this is their 3rd appearence here having exhibited in Tent, Roodkapje and making a workshop in a home for old people (Bejaardenhuis)

I-PRO2 emerged from the necesity to feel happy. The average musician feeling down tends to write depressive songs. With us it was the opposite way. Guitarist Gabi en guitarist David decided to start a party-band. We wanted to play solely strong, up-tempo songs. One day Gabi came up with something. She confessed she had wrote a song, inspired on her feet. She played the song and we soon recorded it, in the old GonzoStudio Feet was the name of the song and it had sort of a therapeutical effect on us. Light Rock 'n Rollish joy-punk was the result.

Improvisatieconcerten georganiseerd door de R:IP.
De R:IP selecteert een aantal ervaren improvisatoren en goede (jonge) muzikanten met minder improvisatie-ervaring, zet ze voor een geïnformeerd publiek op een podium in uiteenlopende bezettingen, en laat ze muziek maken. Een vergelijkbaar concept werd al met succes toegepast in de series V:IP en Gouden Hamers

Op deze manier kunnen ervaren (R:IP) improvisatoren getalenteerde nieuwkomers met vrije improvisatie laten kennismaken. Jonge muzikanten kunnen nieuwe invalshoeken die de vrije improvisatie biedt aftasten. Er zal kruisbestuiving plaatsvinden met als resultaat een muzikale verrijking voor zowel onervaren als ervaren improvisatoren De keuzes voor de bezettingen moeten leiden tot een avond die interessant is voor publiek en die muzikanten uitdaagt tot het verleggen van hun muzikale grenzen.

SQUARTET
Squartet is a three-piece instrumental band based in Rome, Italy, formed in May 2004, from two experienced noisejazzcore bands from Rome (Demode and Neo). Born from punk, corrupted by funk, de-evolved into noise, with a taste for be-bop, Squartets music is better served live, at high volume, so that your nerves are tensed and relaxed alternately; sung parts are missing and replaced by schizophrenic, restless guitar lines.
Since the beginning Squartet has been touring in Italy and near European countries, spreading around its ironic and catching up live set, sharing the stage with bands like Mike Watt & Secondmen, Karate, Melt Banana, Ron Anderson's Pak, Zu. Influences can be found in the '90s, from Ruins, Mr. Bungle, Naked City, NoMeansNo, from the '80s, The Residents, Fred Frith's Massacre, Snakefinger, back to Zappa's experimental music.
