The R:IP invites a number of experienced improvisers and some excellent musicians with less experience in free improvisation and lets them play before a well informed audience in diverse combinations. In this way experienced (R:IP) improvisers let newbies get acquainted with improvised music. Young musicians will get a chance to explore new facets of improvisation. There will be cross-pollination with as a result musical enrichment for the inexperienced as well as the experienced improvisers. The choice for specific combinations of musicians has to lead to an interesting event for the audience and to provoke musicians to shift their musical borders.
